Hello Everyone!

I just wanted to send out a quick note to everyone about 2 things that we have gotten a couple emails about.

1. bpHope Forum is an open forum that we would like to keep available in Search Engines. This way more people will be able to locate this forum and find support from all of you. Because the website and discussions are searchable you may be more comfortable using a screen name, alias, first name only, or initials instead of your full name. If you have already created a profile using you full name and would like to change it please follow these instructions:

- Log in to bphope forum
- Click on the "Change My Photo" link on the left menu
- Change your "Full Name" to the desired screen name
- Click "Save" at the bottom of the screen

2. We have also had a few emails in regard to possible SPAM messages. If you receive a message you think is SPAM (or any unwanted messages) please let us know as much about the message and sender as you can so we can act on it. Please follow the steps below to report an issue to us:

- Log in to bpHope Forum
- Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click on "Report an Issue"
- Select the type of Issue
- In the "Describe Your Issue" section please let us know what the issue is. Include the name of the person who sent you the message, when the message was sent, and if possible copy and paste the message.

I think it's great that this forum is public. I would not have found this site if it wasn't public. However - I assumed that my name would become visible which is why I used only my first name in the beginning.

Now that I've gotten more familiar with the site however, and blogs in general, I have found out how to have more control over this stuff.

If you go into the profile setting described above and then click on the privacy button to the left of the screen you can make it so your posts and info and such only appear to members. I think this will also stop you from being searchable.

I think this is a great solution because it allows us to be open and share with each other honestly but doesn't put it out there for EVERYONE.

I just changed my name but it still shows my regular name in the chat.

I change my name, but when doing a google search on my name, it bring up my name and that I am on this site, still.

Beatrice: I have been trying to find the "change my photo" link on the left hand side
menu. Is that on my home page? I don't understand how to do what what you are talking about. I do not see on my settings where it might say change photo. Can you help me with this? Chris I don't want to change my email address at present.

Thanks for the heads up Beatrice. One of the many reasons why I feel so comfortable on this forum! Your whole team do a great job and I am so glad I found bp Magazine.
